A CRACKING week of twilight last week with finally some relief from the heat wave we have had for seemingly the past two months straight. Some 195 players made the lap around Royal Leeton, which is up from previous weeks.
Dave Doig took out the Player of the Week honours by a country mile over Josh Helson (32 nett) as he came in with a blistering 27 nett. Firing a +1 over par 37 off the beater to have that score (slight conspiracy theory with his twilight handicap and comp handicap being the same, he must always choose the “wrong” nine to play his twilight).
Other notables for the week were as follows; Matt Arnold, 33, Peter Tiffen, 33, Kerren Barnes, 33, Daniel Norden, 34, Father Dunne, 34, Marcus Wynn, 34, Robbie Gifford, 34, The Major of Corbie Hill Frank Iannelli, 34, John Kellahan, 34, Aaron Wooley, 34, Lorraine Kefford, 34.
Special mention to Bo Jarema, who’s first round for the week was a 55 nett, which he followed up two days later with a 34 nett in the wind.
- Division 1: Things are getting tight at the top with The Whymees and Guns & Roses now tied at the top… The battle for the fourth spot in the division is heating up too with only two shots separating the Tin Shed Rattlers (fourth) and The Superwash M8s (fifth).
- Division 2: The Crowaholics have a massive lead here in division two over Murrami Magic, with The Insiders and The Bald Eagles close behind. The Drop Bears look to try and make the top four.
- Division 3: A bunch of flogs lead this division with a group of cold toppers in second, The Woftams and The Schitnoes round out the top four and look solid.
- Division 4: The Great PT’s Dirty Sanchez have got one hand on the trophy. I back these fellas under the pressure of GF day and like their line up! The BTCP have hold of fourth spot here and need to fight hard to hold off the might of The Mighty Bradman’s.
