There have been plans drawn up for a 22 lot subdivision in Conapaira Street, near the swimming pool.
Council is looking for genuine interest from anyone who would like to build a new home within two years.
Council will then decide on the next step, depending on the feedback they receive.
If you would like more information on the proposed subdivision, contact the council, or look it up on the Facebook pages of council or Whitton Community News.
This could be a great opportunity to escape the rental market stress, where it can be very hard to find somewhere to live due to property availability and the long-term uncertainty of the property you are in, being available for rent.
It would be worthwhile doing some homework, to find out the costs of putting your own home on one of these blocks, and what is needed for a loan from a financial institution.
It is very possible that loan repayments would be much less than rental payments, with the bonus security of having a certain roof over your head, that will eventually be your own.
In other news, the new year has begun for playgroup who meet at the hall on Thursdays at 10am. New and returning children and parents and carers welcome.
Whitton Murrami School has also kicked off the year by hosting the Small Schools Swimming Carnival this week.
