In October 1917, three Sisters from the Black Josephite Order began lessons in the St Joseph's Catholic Church.
The school has developed and grown into a kindergarten to year 6 school of around 260 children.
A foundation of faith
At St Joseph’s a key focus is nurturing the spirituality of each student through prayer and liturgy.
As well as Religious Education lessons, students take part in school and class masses and participate in preparation for the sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation.
Student well-being a priority
At St Joseph’s the well-being of each student is a priority.
St Joseph’s is part of the national “Be You” initiative, supporting children’s mental health.
The prevention of bullying is part of this program.

Technology for all students
The St Joseph’s environment is rich in technology.
Every classroom is equipped with a large interactive screen to engage students in their learning.
In the primary grades at St Joseph’s (Years 3-6), each individual student is provided with a laptop for use throughout the day.
STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) is an integral component of our science curriculum across the school.
Students work with a specialist science teacher each week.
Striving for sporting success
This term, students in years 2 to 6 will receive specialised training from Athletics NSW in preparation for the 2019 St Joseph’s athletics carnival next term.
This will also assist students as they prepare to represent the school at further carnivals.
Learning another language
At St Joseph’s students attend lessons in the Italian language and culture, with a specialist language teacher.
This year families joined us as we celebrated the Italian festival of ‘Carnevale’.
The day included a parade, Italian games and a mouthwatering array of Italian food.
Musical instrument tuition
Students at St Joseph’s Leeton can elect to receive tuition in a range of instruments, including flute, saxophone, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, drums, violin and cello.
Learning a musical instrument also entitles students to be part of the St Joseph’s instrumental ensemble.
