With this in mind, the Leeton Lions Club literacy program is continuing to offer that opportunity since starting in July, 2013.
Lions program co-ordinator Col Attree said the program aimed to introduce Leeton's children to books from a young age.

"It's aim is to give an opportunity to introduce children to reading and the library," he said.
"With the co-operation from the child and family health nurses and the Lions Club, a child's birth date is recorded and a voucher sent out to the participants on their first to their fourth birthdays.
"This enables them to collect a book, provided by the Lions Club of Leeton, at the Leeton library."
The program is also supported by the Leeton branch of Beyond Bank.
