The answer arrives in Leeton this week, with a free grant writing workshop to be held on Wednesday.
The three-hour workshop will be presented by Keith Whelan, who is known as "the grants "guy".
He specialises in grants, tenders and funding consultancy.
The workshop is ideal for people new to writing grants and it will help them write a better application.
The session will use grants from both public and private sector as case studies and discuss how to apply successfully for a grant using certain proven techniques.
Mr Whelan will also run participants through Leeton Shire Council’s community grants process and provide tips on how to write a successful application.
Council's manager community services Wendell Peacock said there were many opportunities out there for groups and organisations, so knowing how to write an appropriate grant application was essential.
"Council’s community strengthening grants round two (is now open), so the workshop is timely for community groups and organisations that need some expert assistance in completing their applications," she said.
Interested community groups can obtain a copy of the application form from the council website or in person at its offices.
To secure a spot at the grants writing workshop contact Sarah Collis by emailing sarahc@leeton.nsw.gov.au or phone 6953 0913.
The workshop will be held at the council chambers on Wednesday from 10am to 1pm.
