DAVID Landini believes something radical needs to be done to shake up the political climate in the Murray electorate and he has come up with a concept that would do just that.

Mr Landini has nominated as an independent candidate for Murray in the upcoming state election on March 23.
He believes the electorate has been ignored for too long and his proposal to change this is one only few have thought of before him.
Mr Landini said if he was elected to represent the Murray electorate, which includes Leeton shire, he would call for a referendum to have the Riverina be declared it's own state.
He said he had had enough of the state government "playing games" with the electorate's water.
"They are destroying our lives and our livelihoods," Mr Landini said.
"I'm proposing we separate from NSW and form a Riverina state. This is where I differ from other candidates. The other option is to stay and that to me is not an option.
"If we want to prosper, we have to do something big."
Mr Landini lives in Wakool where he owns Landini Industries Wool Brokers.
He said farmers lives and the communities they live in were being destroyed by politicians and the Murray-Darling Basin Plan.
