After the Carpheads won the toss and sent Yanco into bat, Brian Rotherham and Andrew Kouzan tried to get their side off to a good start. With the score on 16, Kouzan (10) was bowled by Jarrod O'Brien while the real trouble set in 11 runs later.
O'Brien (2/18) picked up his second wicket of the day when he had Anthony Mandaglio (7) out caught by Cooper Vearing while Cooper Irons (2/11) picked up the wickets of Thomas Camm (1) and Glenn Hillam (1) to see the Stags sitting on 4/30 after 12.4 overs.
Rotherham and Max Yelland had a tough task ahead of them if they wanted to get their side to a defendable total and after a partnership of 16 runs, Rotherham (19) was caught by Dylan Whiteman off the bowling of Tom Butterfield while Butterfield followed it up with the wicket of Yelland (7) when he was caught by Jake Grant.
David Tiffin (11*) was the lower order batsmen from the Stags to post double digits as Mitch McPherson (1/7), Butterfield (3/15) and Whiteman (1/2) as the Yanco side was bowled out for 72 in 33.4 overs.
Yanco was able to take the early wickets which would be crucial if they were to defend the total as Ash Cabban (5) and Grant (0) fell to the bowling of Camm (2/10) within four balls to see Narrandera fall to 2/11 after four overs.
The batting of Vearing and Butterfield took the game away from the Stags as they put on 42 runs for the third-wicket before Kouzan (2/11) dismissed the pair in the space of two overs. Irons (0) and Nick O'Brien (3) followed closely behind as they were dismissed by Callum Dunn however David Kroek (15*) was able to guide his side to a four-wicket win with 15.4 overs remaining.
Yanco will be looking to make the most of the second chance at their disposal when they take on L&D CC Yellow. The L&D side was able to advance to the preliminary final after they picked up a forfeit win over the LSC Colts who were unable to field a side for the elimination final due to a lack of number for their first-grade side. The preliminary final between the L&D CC Yellow and Yanco will take place at Leeton High School Oval No 1.
