When she was at school she tossed up between going into a nursing career or becoming a paramedic.
She ended up going with the first option and now it's a decision she does not regret.
Miss Kelly started nursing when she was 17 when she was offered a position as a trainee enrolled nurse, which she readily accepted.
"Throughout my year long training there I was able to see and do a lot," she said.
"I was actually able to spend quite a lot of time here at Carramar and I just fell in love with the place.
"I studied through TAFE as well."
After gaining her qualifications, Miss Kelly decided she wanted to work at Carramar, where she was employed as an enrolled nurse from 2004 until 2013.
After that she spent four years working in the ACT before returning to Leeton and Carramar last year.

"I love everything about this job," Miss Kelly said.
"It's the going home at the end of the day knowing you've helped to make someone's quality of life for that day a bit better.
"You can put a smile on someone's face. It's knowing you get up every morning and you're helping people. It's not a regular job.
"You do get to at least try and make a difference in people's lives, which doesn't happen in every job."
Miss Kelly has tried and tested many of the various facets of nursing, but said aged care was always her number one passion.
She hopes more younger people will first off get into the profession and then find their way towards the aged care sector.
"For me it was a bit of a progression thing ... I've worked across different areas, particularly in the ACT and what I do here in Carramar is what I love most," Miss Kelly said.
"It would definitely be great to have more young people working in aged care, but nursing too.
"I think you have to be passionate and find what excites you the most about nursing and helping people."
Miss Kelly said the only drawback she sees when it comes to being a nurse is the shift work.
