The Leeton Water Wheel Garden Club will once again hold its annual open gardens event on Easter Monday and there's certain to be more than meets the eye.

Large gardens, small gardens and even one garden with a Lord of the Rings theme are all featuring this year as the event aims to raise vitals for community organisations throughout the shire.

Club president Jeanine Bird said there would be something for everyone in the six featured gardens.

"What we like to do is present gardens that would appeal to everyone whether they already have an established garden themselves, are looking for ideas or even starting out," she said.

"It's important to show you can have a garden that looks good, even if you don't have a lot of space, time or money to put into it.

"Gardening is something everyone can do."

Highlighting that statement from Mrs Bird is the fact two of this year's gardens that will be on show are owned and maintained by residents aged in their eighties and nineties.

Not only will there be luscious gardens on show, but there's also a devonshire morning tea, afternoon tea and lunch on offer at select locations.

Gardening expert Adrian Podmore will also be giving two presentations on the day offering up his tips and tricks.

Adding to all of that will be entertainment from John Martin and the Leeton Town Band.

Mrs Bird said there was much to love about the annual event.

"I think my favourite part of the event is just seeing everyone coming together and enjoying the day," she said.

"It's something you can do as a group or as an individual.

"It's a nice and relaxing way to end the Easter weekend."

Following the event, the club decides where it will be distributing the funds raised as a result of the day.

Charities in the past have included Leeton Can Assist, the Volunteer Rescue Association, Scouts, Girl Guides, JumpStart and many more.

Tickets for the open day are now available from the Leeton Visitor Information Centre, costing $20 for all six gardens, including lunch and morning tea.

For those not wanting to visit all six, the cost is $5 per garden.
