That passion is continuing to grow for the Leeton High School year 7 student, who was recently selected in the Riverina girls team to compete at the All Schools Team Championships at the Yamba Golf Club in term two.
Adelaide was one of several students from the school to take part at the the Riverina Schools Sports Association Secondary golf strokeplay championships and selection trials at the Leeton golf course.
As a result of her success there, she was chosen for the Riverina team.
"I did reasonably well on the day," she said.
"I started playing golf quite young and I've been playing since then. I think I got my first golf set when I was around eight.
"My grandmother played and my dad played, so I got into it through that."
Also competing at the same event in Leeton was Logan Mahalm, Caleb Watson, Eligh Watson, Kai Schmetzer, Callum Dunn, Tom Allen and Blake McDonald.
Blake was runner-up in the handicap event with a 73 net, while Caleb wasn't far behind on 74 net.
Adelaide said being able to take part in competitions through school was a good opportunity for all players.
She said there were many reasons why she liked playing golf.
"It's one of those sports where you can play it, then not play it for a couple of years, and you can pick straight back up with it again," she said.
"You don't have to be training every day for it.
"I usually try and play once a week. I've gotten used to the course here in Leeton, but sometimes it depends what sort of a day you're having."
The young player has already had a taste of golf on several different courses, including Griffith and Tuross Heads.
Adelaide has a handicap of 45 for 18 holes, which she has only recently started, and 20 for nine holes.
The state event in Yamba is held across three days, with 18 holes played each day.
"I think it's going to be pretty hard," she said.
"I'll just keep playing in in the lead up and maybe do a little bit extra. It should be a good experience."
