With previous talks of a mid-year opening, Kmart has thrown Griffith another bone and narrowed down its arrival even further - to August.

When approached by The Area News, a Kmart spokeswoman said: "I can confirm an August opening".
Those who have registered interest in a job with Kmart have been sent out an email from Kmart alerting them to jobs being advertised currently and in the near future.
It is expected more than 100 staff will be hired.
Despite rumours of Kmart coming to Griffith in May earlier in the year, the company previously denied claims a date has been set.

Their statement at the time said they looked forward to opening their door "mid-year".
While on the other side of the mid-year mark, Griffith now has a month to circle in the calendar.
