The weir itself will be undergoing major maintenance and restoration work by WaterNSW.
While the work is taking place the actual weir will be closed, but the works are planned to begin after the Easter school holidays.
This means events such as the Leeton Bidgee Classic Fishing Competition will still be able to be based from the weir and will go ahead in 2020.
Other restoration work is also scheduled for Berembed Weir, Stevens Weir, Maude Weir and Redbank Weir.

WaterNSW said the planned work would ensure essential water supply structures continue to meet contemporary standards.
In a statement, WaterNSW said signage would be posted at each site informing of closures.
"This restoration program occurs every 20 years, but it has been brought forward while water levels are low to minimise the impacts of weir closures," the statement read.
"There may be increased traffic movement and some localised noise impacts during the restoration work."
Work facts:
- Berembed Weir, on the Murrumbidgee River, will be closed from early May until August 2019. Water supply operations may be affected during this work, but WaterNSW will advise.
- Stevens Weir, near Deniliquin, will be closed from May until January.
- Redbank Weir will be closed from now until November. Water supply operations may be affected during this work and customers will be advised accordingly.
- Maude Weir will be closed from November until mid-2020.
- Gogeldrie Weir will be closed between April and October 2020.
Construction hours will be from Monday to Friday from 7am to 6pm and Saturday 8am to 1pm.
A previous version of this article said the Gogeldrie Weir would be closed for 12 months, which is incorrect.
