The Demons defeated the Crows 62-36 at Leeton Showground on Saturday afternoon, but the young side was able to take plenty of pointers from the match.
The Crows were coming off a win the week before, but knew the Demons would be a difficult task.
"The scoreline probably didn't indicate how the game went," co-coach Nicole Matthews said when speaking on Saturday night.

"At three-quarter-time it was only 41-30, so although we matched them for fitness, they did get the goals on us. Keep working hard and it will come.
"We will improve. I have faith in that. We just need to value out turnovers."
This weekend the Crows turn their attention to the top-placed MCUE Goannas.
It will be another uphill battle for the young side, but as Matthews and fellow co-coach Beck McCallum keep telling the team - put the effort in and the result will come.
