The Goannas started well and opened up a 27-point lead by half-time on their way to a 12.7 (79) to 5.3 (33) win at Mangoplah Sportsground on Saturday.
New MCUE coach Jeremy Rowe was full of admiration for his players after finally breaking through for a win.
"I've got great admiration for our group and the way they have handled themselves since the start of pre-season," Rowe said.
"When you start the season 0-3 you get to learn about the group and what I've learnt is that this group is in it for the long haul, there wasn't one player who has disengaged or looked for excuses over the first three weeks.
"They have maintained belief...and if you stay the course you'll get the rewards and today was that reward."
Lachie Kendall was best-on-ground for MCUE. Released from tagging duties for the week, he thrived as an offensive midfielder.
George Kendall was strong up forward and kicked three goals, while Blake Chapman continued his good start to the year with another top effort in the ruck.
Nick McCormack and Ethan Schiller were good through the midfield, while Jake Hindmarsh enjoyed his best game for his new club.
Ryan Grey and Thomas Meline were best for the Crows, who remain winless after four rounds and appear destined for a long season.
Rowe said the Goannas will train hard over the next fortnight, with the upcoming representative bye, with a huge clash awaiting the following week against Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong.
