INDEPENDENT candidate for Farrer Kevin Mack believes places like Leeton, Narrandera and Griffith "are on their knees" when it comes to vital services - or a lack thereof.

He said regional centres such as the MIA were continuing to miss out, while metropolitan areas continued have all of the attention, focus and cash thrown at them.
Mr Mack was speaking at a forum in Yanco on Thursday afternoon that was organised by the Campaigners for Regional Equality group.

He spoke about health and water specifically, even dialing in a doctor from Deniliquin with 30 years experience to discuss what needs to change to better improve the system.
"These are major issues ... if we do not address them prior to the election, we will still be here next year having the same discussions," Mr Mack said.
"It's the definition of insanity - we keep doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result.
"Places like Leeton are on their knees and deserve better."
Mr Mack is one of the front runners for the seat of Farrer, challenging 18-year incumbent Sussan Ley.
The former police officer, who is the mayor of Albury, said he decided to throw his hat into the ring because "enough is enough".
"If Albury isn't getting its fair share, then imagine what's happening to places like Leeton and Yanco," he said.
