Known as "Leeton's social day out", the cooler temperatures did keep some away, but for those who did turn out it was an event to remember.
Leeton Jockey Club president Grant Fitzsimon said crowd numbers were slightly down compared to last year.
"I would say maybe about 200 down on last year," he said. "However, given how bad it was on Friday, we were pretty lucky with the day we had. "Those who were there had a good time and we really thank them for their support.
"It's definitely a bit more of a younger crowd these days, but it is a day for everyone."
With good racing on the track and strong fields, Mr Fitzsimon believed the event will only continue to grow.
He said the feedback received from trainers, jockeys and stewards alike were just rewards for his hard-working committee.
"There has been a lot of work go into our track and facilities here," Mr Fitzsimon said.
"So many of the trainers, jockeys and stewards were coming up to me saying how impressed they were with everything we have here.
"I think they were pleasantly surprised."
The Leeton Cup day is one of two race meetings the club holds each year, with its next scheduled for September 30.

With many travelling to take part in the Leeton Cup, Mr Fitzsimon hopes it will help in picking up more numbers for the next meeting.
"We had several come up from Canberra, so we are getting good quality horses taking part ... with word-of-mouth I think our next meeting will be very good quality again," he said.
Those who attend regularly will know it is referenced as usually being the "first day of winter", but Mr Fitzsimon is looking into applying to have the event moved to a warmer time of year.
"It's a hard one because all of the races around the place have their days and dates locked in, so it is hard to slot in," he said.
