After several players pulled out of the team at the last minute, coach Frank Alampi was forced to make some changes ahead of the long trek to the Eagles' home turf.
"We were down several players, which was a bit annoying, but we still had a good team," Alampi said.
"We still should have won.
"We could have played better on the day I thought."

United were able to hit the scoreboard first before Tumut hit back.
It was much of the same again when Leeton found the net only to have Tumut level and have the final score sitting 2-all and the points being shared.
The result hasn't hurt Leeton's spot on the Football Wagga competition, rather they jumped a spot up to third after dropping to fourth the week before following their first loss of the season.
Hanwood FC remains in first and Wagga United in second.
Alampi said there was plenty of improving for his side to do between now and Sunday morning when they take on Camden in Sydney in a State Cup match.
"We need to be making better use of the ball and not giving it away so easily," he said.
"We work so hard to get it and then we're losing it too quickly."
