YANCO-WAMOON suffered their first loss of the 2019 season at the hands of the Griffith Black and Whites on Sunday.
The Panthers sent out a strong signal to the rest of the competition that they mean business this year, defeating the Hawks 30-0 in what was a top-of-the-table clash.
Yanco-Wamoon will take some small comfort in the fact their team was down several troops and will already be looking to get one back over the Black and Whites during their next match up in round two of the competition.
This weekend the Hawks return home to Yanco Sportsground where they will take on sixth-placed Yenda.
The Blueheelers have had a mixed start to the season, winning two of their five matches so far.
Yanco-Wamoon will be seeking a return to the winner's list and continuing to cement their position towards the top of the table.
Greens raring to go after break
THE Leeton Greens will return to the field this weekend following on from last week's club bye.
Training has kicked back into full swing as the league tag sides prepares to face the Waratah Tigers.
The third-placed Greens are hoping to keep Waratahs winless on Saturday afternoon at Exies Oval.
However, they won't be taking the side lightly and will be focusing on not just getting the points, but perfecting their game plan.
