The 16-year-old was selected in the Fiji national open netball side to take part in a recent training camp and quad series against Singapore, both of which were in the Asian country.

She was given significant game time during the three-match series, playing in the positions of goal defence and wing defence.

Those two positions are not typically where she plays, usually she is either in goal keeper or goal attack, but that just made the experience even more worthwhile.

Now, Grace is waiting with bated breath to see if she will be selected in a further camp in Brisbane where a squad will then be chosen to take part in further matches against the New Zealand Silver Ferns.

A selection in this team would likely mean Grace has secured a spot to play for Fiji in the upcoming netball World Cup in England.

"I can't really wrap my head around everything that has happened," Grace said.

"It's so exciting, so I'm just trying to keep my feet on the ground at the moment.

"If I'm chosen to play in the World Cup, I'll be playing against so many of my idols. It's just unreal."

Sporting prowess runs in the Korovata family, with Grace's father having also represented Fiji in both rugby league and rugby union.

"I have my fingers crossed I get selected ... it's already been such a big learning experience for me," Grace said.

"It would be an absolute honour."

Grace is still playing for the Leeton-Whitton Crows and dreams of playing the sport professionally.

The Fiji Pearls are currently ranked 14^th in the world and Grace said the team's goal was to get back into the top 10.
