Members of Leeton Pieces n Patches group presented a cheque for $4000, proceeds from the exhibition, to Mary Dodd and Phyllis Gutherie of Leeton Can Assist.
Can Assist provide direct financial assistance to people in country NSW affected by cancer.
By providing accommodation, financial assistance and practical support to people from rural and regional areas, Can Assist ensures that country people are given the same opportunities and treatment choices as those who live in city centres.
The generosity of the Leeton community, and the willingness to support local charities, came to light once again.
In the past, the quilters have supported Country Hope and Leeton Volunteer Rescue Association (VRA).
The biennial exhibition was held on May 4 and 5 and the raffled quilt was won by Doreen Tuckett, while Mary Dodd took away second prize of a gift basket.
