While a number of clubs may not be at full strength this is how they should shape up or close to it.
Ivanhoe: Captain Coach Conrad McGinty showed reasonable from at the knockout and could be considered unlucky to be narrowly beaten by Barellan in its opening game and then gave Hillston all it could handle.
Apart from Conrad McGinty who is arguably the best player in the competition will get good value out of Mark Carmichael, Kyle Archibald, Brian Etrich, Reed Bunyan and Josh Robertson.
Barellan: Make the knockout final so that should be a confidence booster.
The Rams have their share of quality performers and in Captain Coach Ben Evans have a player who will lead from the front.
Young fullback Albert Gibson is very talented and the side will get good drive from the likes of Ryan Overall, Brandon Wilson, Lachlan Pengelly, Greg Bonetti, Jimmy McDermott and Luke Savage among others, the club has the ability to go well into July.
Narrandera: Proten knockout winners and looked good in taking the Proten Shield, looked to be more balanced than last year and are certainly a lot fitter.
The Lizards have plenty of know-how in coach Gary Ingram who is also a top notch goalkicker and Troy Prior who over the seasons have played plenty of first grade in Group 20.
Narrandera have a winner in Jamien in the centre and with the likes of Wade Williams, Corey Prior, Jason Matthews and John Williams has a squad that can go all the way in 2019.
Goolgowi: Can be considered very unlucky not to have made the knockout final, after turning back Rankins Springs and drawing with Narrandera.
The Rabbitohs have retained John Michael Cahill as co-coach after taking the red and greens (top colours) to last years decider and apart from Cahill and Alex Brown will have good players in fullback Billy Hale, the vastly experienced Simon McClure and with players like Nathan Sanders, Laurie Sandford, Jeremy Young and former Waratah Danny Graham will mount a strong challenge for premiership honours.
Rankins Springs: Last year's Proten champs and the question is can the club do it again?
Of course they can and I believe that the Dragons can go very close to retaining their title.
New coach Kane Wilson has the bulk of last years squad to work with although I have been informed at this stage that Rankins Springs could go in without last years leader Josh Curphey and that would certainly be a blow to the Springs chances, still with the likes of fullback Billy Vearing, Jamie Parsons, Billy Overall, Todd McCarten, Damien Walker and John Power the Dragons will be right on the pace.
Hillston: Looked okay at the knockout with a narrow loss to Barellan and a win over Ivanhoe, have new coaches in locals Mark Rathmell and Sam Fensom and look likely to improve on 2018. They have gained some handy performer in forward Craig Ticehurst, Michael Stalley, Daniel Milthorpe, Jack Fensom, Ben Westley, Ben Robertson and Nathan Dauth.
