Police have reported concern at the number of assaults occurring in Leeton after 150 were recorded in the town last year. More than half of the assaults that were reported in 2013 happened at a private residence.

JUMP START FOR STRANDED HERCULES
Two massive C-130J Hercules dominated the tarmac at Narrandera-Leeton Airport on Friday morning when one of the aircraft was unable to start its engines after landing Thursday evening. One of the RAAF planes had been in the are for parachute training when it became stranded.

Chaos and confusion marred the end of Sunday's Group 20 clash between Yenda and Narrandera when verbal assault from players forced the referee to cancel the game after just 22 minutes.
