Murrumbidgee Police District Chief Inspector John Wadsworth has congratulated officers for a "good arrest" after they captured a man wanted on a warrant for armed robbery, fake money and drug charges.

Police were patrolling Banna Avenue just before 5am on Monday morning when they saw three men sitting in a black sedan with NSW number plates.
They recognised one of the men who was wanted on a warrant for failing to appear in Leeton Local Court for offenses relating to robbery armed with offensive weapon, possession and use of counterfeit money, prohibited drug and equipment for administering prohibited drugs.
When officers approached and spoke to him, he gave them a fake name. At this point police took him and escorted him to the police vehicle in handcuffs.
The 21-year-old struggled and ran from police after pushing them away.
It is alleged he spat directly in one of the officer's face, and kicked out and connected with an officer's arm.
They finally got him into the rear of their vehicle, and after another search they allegedly found cannabis and prescription drugs on him.
He was been charged with knowingly make false/misleading statements, inmate attempt to escape custody, assault and resist officers in the execution of their duty.
He was brought before Griffith Local Court on Monday morning.
