THERE has been a shake up at the Yanco All-Servicemen's Club, but despite what rumours may say, the doors are remaining open.
The club's secretary-manager Andrew Hurst has decided to move on from the role, with his last day this Friday.
This decision has caused concern in the shire it will mean the club will be closing its doors as its financial woes continue.
However, club director Glenn Preston has moved to assure the community this isn't happening.
"We're still open ... that's the main message we want to get across," Mr Preston said.
"Things are still tight and still tough, but we are battling on.
"There could be some more changes to report later this week, but at the moment it's something I can discuss at present."
The board was expected to meet with staff at the club on Monday night to discuss the way forward and possible changes.
This may include not replacing the secretary-manager.
"That is an option we might look at ... perhaps the club could be ran by the board, but these are all just ideas at the moment," Mr Preston said.
"Nothing is set in concrete.
"The main thing we want people to know is the door is still open and we would love to see them come in and support us."
The club has been struggling for some time and mid-way through last year it was forced to appeal to the public to assist in fundraising to repay some of its debt.
Since then the club has been thinking of new ways to bring in the crowds, as well as doing everything else that is possible to get its financial situation under control.
Mr Preston there were some decisions that needed making in the coming weeks to help get the club back on track.
"We're looking at ways to move forward, but what that will involve at the moment, we're still working on," he said. The club is a vital part of the Yanco community, providing a place for charities and groups to hold their meetings, birthday parties and anniversaries to be held and more.
Mr Preston said the hard work would continue to ensure the club remains part of the town's future.
