The movie was filmed in the MIA, with Mr Speer starring the lead role.
"This is a wonderful acknowledgement to all the hard work of our cast and crew and also the contribution and support from so many Leeton people, local businesses and Leeton Shire Council," he said.
"Myself and the film's director D'Arby Deck will be attending the festival when Inside Water screens (on Friday)."

Mr Speer was also in Leeton recently to conduct drama workshops with students at Leeton High School, which he said is something he would like to do more of in the future.
"There's a lot of talent at that school," he said.
"The feedback was very positive and it was wonderful to see them all getting invested in the process and rising to the challenge."
Mr Speer has also just started rehearsals for a new musical.
