They must win every week from here on out in order to do so and, standing in their way on Saturday, will be the ladder-leaders Wagga Waratahs.
It will be no easy feat for the Phantoms, who have been plagued by injuries, suspension and player availability all season.
Phantoms club president Tim Allen said the first grade side was still a mathematical chance of making the finals.
They are currently seventh on the ladder, but there is only nine points separating them and third-placed Griffith Blacks.

"We basically do need to win from here on out, but it is going to depend on results from other teams as well," Allen said.
"It's been pretty hard this year in terms of numbers. There's been injuries, suspensions and players have had work commitments.
"That's just bush footy though. It happens to all the teams at one point or another."
The Phantoms have lost their last two matches on the road against Griffith Blacks and Albury Steamers, making this weekend an even more important time to get the points on the board.
"It's going to be a pretty tough match, but if we play like we did against Griffith a couple of weeks ago, we will be giving ourselves a good shot at winning," Allen said.
"We might have lost that game against Griffith, but I would say it was one of our best games of the season because we actually stuck to a game plan.
"I think if we can do that on Saturday, we're a chance."
The match will be played on Saturday at 3.15pm on at Conolly Park.
