Leeton are sixth on the ladder, but with only five rounds remaining, its appears unlikely they will be able to claw their way into the semi-finals.
Their loss on Saturday may have looked like a big one on paper, but coach Stuart Stout said his team put in the effort.
"We did have a couple out, but I actually thought the girls played really well," he said.
"They did a good job keeping Waratahs to 39 points.

"It just highlighted again some of our weaknesses.
"Teams have been able to stop us at those fourth and fifth phases.
"We just haven't been scoring.
"Defensively, I think we've been holding our own pretty well."
This weekend the Dianas will face Tumut at No. 1 Oval.
The Bullettes are second on the women's ladder. Leeton forward Alicia Sloan will likely miss the match with a broken finger, with the side already missing its other prop.
"That's going to be a bit difficult for us to cover, but we'll still be throwing everything we have at Tumut," Stout said.
"Nothing changes in terms of the effort the girls will be putting in.
"We probably won't make finals, but the girls are all still keen to get out there and play."
