It was a dour day across the region weather-wise on Sunday, with Leeton and the Mallee Men locked in a tight tussle all game.
West Wyalong eventually ground out a 18-4 win on their home turf, with the Greens left to rue what could have been.
The Mallee Men were able to cross the line within the first 10 minutes of the game, which was converted to have the score sitting at 6-0.
Soon after Leeton's Adam Twigg got one back for the Greens, but the conversion was unsuccessful.

That would be the only time the Greens would score for the rest of the match and it was late in first half when West Wyalong would cross the line again.
At half-time the score was 10-4, with Leeton still right in the match.
The back and forth continued in the windy and slippery conditions before the Mallee Men scored twice more in the second half.
Leeton will now sit this weekend out thanks to the club bye, which will earn the fifth-placed team two points as the season really starts to get interesting.
Yanco-Wamoon picked up another win on Sunday, this time a 32-18 victory against the ever-improving Magpies.
Coach Troy Preston will be happy to come away from the road trip with the points as they continue their quest to cement a top-two position on the Group 20 ladder.
The tries were shared around for the Hawks, with Preston, Codey Parsons, Kane Hammond, Liam Bowker, Micheal Thomas and Harry Daudravuni all picking up one apiece. Jone Tabaiwalu had three successful conversions.
The Hawks will hope to continue that consistency and team work this weekend.
Yanco-Wamoon are now equal second on points with West Wyalong, with the Mallee Men just ahead on percentage.
The Hawks will be back at Yanco Sportsground on Sunday where they will face the sixth-placed Griffith Black and Whites.
The Panthers will be out to claim a top scalp as they aim to move into the top five.
