However, that hasn't been a problem at Leeton's Out of School Care program, which has had a jam-packed calendar of activities.
Held every day throughout the two-week break, the young participants have been kept busy with everything from winter craft, big screen movie and pizza and NAIDOC Week celebrations to a Mexican dress up day and feast, market day and an amazing race.
Leeton Out of School Care assistant co-ordinator Lauren Nelson said it had been a hectic, but fun couple of weeks for the students enjoying their holiday break while mum and dad are at work.
"We've booked out every day," she said.
"That's 50 children every day ... we've picked up some families from NOOSH (Narrandera Out of School Hours) after it closed.
"We've got a lot of other new families as well, which is brilliant."
Leeton Out of School Care offers a place for families to send their children during the school holidays in what is a safe and friendly environment.

The calendar of activities is always full to the brim and incorporates plenty of physical activity to get the body and mind moving.
Ms Nelson said one of the favourite activities this break had been a trip to Noah's Ark in Wagga.
"That was a massive day," she said.
"The thing that is always good to see is the kids making new friends.
"They don't all go to the same school, so it's good for them to be developing those friendships with each other."
