Shortly before 4am Griffith Fire and Rescue Station 311 attended the fire on Field Place, and while the fibro house was lost despite a hard-fought fight, surrounding homes were saved.
Crews were thankful nobody was in the home while it was being ravaged, finding the fire well underway when they arrived.
Riverina Fire and Rescue Inspector Michael Vandenbout said that despite the crews' best efforts and two hours slog, the house was unable to be saved.
"They concentrated on the houses either side to make sure they were safe," he said.
"They continued to put the fire out, unfortunately nothing was able to be saved of the house."
The event itself was not without a little bad luck, with a flat tyre almost preventing Leeton Hazmat crews to deliver extra air cylinders.
"They had a blow out on the front steering tyre, but fortunately for us they repaired it and within a few moments were able to continue to bring us the cylinders," Inspector Vandenbout said.
The second house fire in three days, Griffith police Chief Inspector John Wadsworth said officers are now continuing investigations into the cause of the fires.
"If anyone has any information about these two fires, please let us know," he urged the community.
Fire and Rescue NSW arrived close to 4am to the Middleton Avenue blaze on Thursday, which saw six Yenda and seven Griffith Station firefighters on the scene.
The flames had consumed the roof and much of the building, but after 30 minutes firefighters managed to extinguish the inferno.
It has been a busy few days for Leeton hazmat as well, attending and assisting not only the two Griffith house fires, but attending a car fire on Leeton's Hickory Street about 1.30am on Thursday prior.
If anyone has information on these fires, contact Griffith Police Station on 69696 4299.
