Architect Peter Williams and project manager Michael Chant, who is a former Leeton resident, were in town to meet with the community and Roxy Theatre stakeholders this week.
Representatives from varying sectors with an interest in the project met with the pair and their team on Monday to discuss their thoughts and needs.
"It's very helpful for us as designers because you know that there is a really broad interest in activities that this building might be able to accommodate," Mr Williams said.
"From our point of view what we need to do is hear that so that we can inform the choices we make.
"Inevitably, any project has to have compromises made.
"So, how you weigh those up is really complicated.
"Talking to these user groups and stakeholders allows us to go through that process so that it benefits everybody even where you have to make a compromise."
There are finite site limits when it comes to the Roxy's redevelopment, including it being a heritage building.
"It's a much-loved heritage building, so it needs to be treated with kid-gloves," Mr Williams said.
The next step is for the pair to refine the information received from their time in Leeton.

Sub-consultants from all manner of backgrounds will also have the information fed through to them as a result of the visit.
A report will then be put together and given to the project's steering committee where the next stage of design will be introduced.
Both men said the community would be kept in loop throughout, especially when it comes to the design. Mr Chant labelled the building as the "centre of gravity for Leeton".
"Overlaying the current users needs with the historic significance of this building is critical to the project's success," he said.
"That's why we are engaging actively with the community and we will be throughout the entirety of the project."
