The installation is a three-month process, with work getting started about a fortnight ago.
Money for the huge project, which is expected to cost around $750,000, was made possibly by a group of forward-thinking golfers.
Several members set up the Leeton Golf Club Benevolent Fund several years ago where money was invested in shares.
These shares have now litterally paid dividends, allowing the project to go ahead.

Leeton golf professional said the benefits of the project would be seen almost immediately.
"Currently what we have to do is water the course using sprinklers, which volunteers and (golf course and Leeton Shire Council staff) have to move manually," he said.
"We're watering in the day because of this. So this system will eliminate all of that.
"We'll water at night, which means the course will get more out of the water and we won't be watering during those high-peak times.
"I'd hazard a guess to say it will save us between $50,000 and $100,000 every year."
This will certainly help when it comes time for the club to plead its case with Leeton Shire Council in mid-2021 when they are due to decide if they want to retain control of the course.
"This system was the biggest thing we were lacking," Mr Mimmo said.
"Yes, we don't have a club house (plans are underway to have one built again), but in terms of running the course, we desperately needed a good irrigation system."
