IN DOUR conditions, the Phantoms were able to spoil the party for the nearby rivals as they claimed a win to finish their season on Saturday.
Then Phantoms hosted the Griffith Blacks at No. 1 Oval and in a see-sawing match, were able to hang on and grab a 31-29 victory.
The match was Leeton's final game of the season having not qualified for this year's finals series.
Coach Seru Rogo had called on his team to finish well and end on a positive note, which they did over the last two weekends, recording victories against the CSU Reddies and the Blacks.
Leeton got out to an early 21-10 lead, but the Blacks were never going to make it easy, making a late charge in the cold and blustery conditions.
The Blacks will play finals football this season, but the loss against the Phantoms would have hurt.
The Phantoms club as a whole also spent Saturday raising funds at No. 1 Oval for Riverina Bluebell, as well as hosting their annual sponsor's day.
