AN ELIMINATION final stands between the Leeton Greens progressing in this year's Group 20 finals series or having their run cut short before it can really begin.
The Greens will host Darlington Point-Coleambally at No. 1 Oval on Saturday afternoon and will be hoping their winning record at their home ground this season remains intact.
Leeton are yet to lose a game at home this season and it's all or nothing come Saturday against the Roosters, who defeated the Greens just a fortnight ago quite convincingly.
After defeating Yanco-Wamoon in last weekend's derby, the Greens have the confidence they can beat the top teams.
Following that victory the team got together on Monday for a light training session to loosen up after the tough, physical encounter with the Hawks.
This was followed by a pool session in Griffith, as well as a team dinner
The training has continued throughout the week and coach Warren Weir is hopeful it will help get Leeton over the line.
"We wanted to have momentum going into the elimination final ... we've got that, so now we just need to get the job done," he said.
"There's also that extra motivation to defeat the Roosters. It's final and we want to get one back over them after that loss the other week."
Leeton will be without Taina Heke for the match after he injured his ankle last weekend, but Kirtis Fisher will likely make a return.
Weir said the key to winning the match on Saturday would be keeping a calm head and limiting errors.
"Every so often we're making those little mistakes and it can cost us," he said.
"If you can limit that and not give away penalties, you're in a good position.
"For us when we make those mistakes, we tend to go into a bit of a lull for five minutes or so and that's when other teams are taking advantage."
The Greens will also have their under 16s, 18s and reserve grade sides playing on Saturday in the elimination finals.
Their league tag team will take the field in the qualifying semi-final on Sunday.
