The area has been locked in for a makeover of sorts for some time and it appears as though work will soon be getting underway.
Leeton Shire Council recently dug up old fuel tanks that were located underground beneath some of the footpath areas in Wade Avenue.
This work needed to be completed prior to the refurbishment taking place.

Council is currently finalising the technical design of the project with a third party consultant.
Following this, council will make an expression of interest, according to manager of special projects Adrian Edgcome-Lucas.
"At this stage, we anticipate works will commence in early November," he said.
"It is council's intention to not impede traffic in Wade Avenue (while work is being undertaken) by keeping one lane open with traffic management throughout the duration of the (project)."
The existing plans for the redevelopment of the area include the introduction of angle parking, a new median strip, paving and general landscaping to make the area more appealing.
This week council will provide residents with the opportunity to provide any final comments or ask questions about the design plans electronically via the Have Your Say community portal or face-to-face on August 29 from 9.30am to 2pm in Jarrah Mall.
This session will be with council staff and Leeton CBD enhancement committee chairman councillor George Weston.
The group will then move to Wade Avenue to hold further consultations with businesses there.
At this stage, we anticipate works will commence in early November.

"People can come along, ask their questions and just find out some information," Cr Weston said.
"It's going to look fantastic when it's all done."
The Wade Avenue work is stage one of a wider CBD enhancement plan, which will eventually include Pine and Kurrajong Avenues, as well as Chelmsford Place.
It will be dependent on funding and could take some time to complete.
