RESIDENTS are leaving themselves open to being the target of crime following several thefts from motor vehicles in the last week.

Incidents where thefts from motor vehicles have occurred recently include on Boronia Road where items were stolen from the back of a work trailer and in Maple Street where binoculars and lawn bowls were taken.
In Railway Avenue a car's window was smashed and money stolen. In this instance the offenders also attempted to steal the vehicle, but failed when they couldn't get it to start.

In Acacia Avenue thieves ransacked a vehicle making, stealing credit cards.
Police are investigating whether or not these cards have been used fraudulently.
Inspector Craig Johnson said it was essential residents were playing a part in protecting themselves from becoming a victim of crime.
"We want to remind residents of the need to lock their vehicles all of the time, even if they are at your home, and not to leave valuables in these vehicles," he said.
