Ryan and his mother Genelle travelled to the country as the young track star looks to keep building to what he hopes will one day be a professional NFL career.
He used the track events to test himself against others his age to see where his fitness and running abilities were at.
Ryan produced some solid results throughout the events he attended and the training hasn't stopped since returning home.
"I probably had maybe a week off, but then I got back into it because I was selected to represent the Riverina at the state athletics event in Sydney," he said.
"Going to Canada was an amazing experience. I took a lot out of it and will learn a lot from it."
Ryan will keep working towards hopefully gaining a scholarship to a college in the United States to play NFL.

"That's still my big dream ... hopefully by going to these events it gets my name out there a bit," he said.
Ryan and Mrs Butler also took the opportunity to enjoy some quick sightseeing and tours in the USA on their way home to Australia and have thanked the Leeton community who helped fundraise to ensure the trip could happen.
"Everyone was very supportive so I want to say thank you," Ryan said.
