The Department of Education announced in late 2014 the school would not be operational in 2015, rather it would merge with Whitton Public School.
That amalgamation, now known as the Whitton-Murrami Public School, did take some getting used to for both communities, students, parents and staff.
Fast forward to today and there's plenty of positive feedback surrounding the quality of education students are receiving.
However, the site of the former Murrami Public School appears to have been neglected by the department for some time.
Buildings are weathered and tired, grass is overgrown and there has been damage to small sheds located on the property.
The department has confirmed the future of the site continues to remain unknown almost five years after it was last used.
"The Department of Education currently owns the former Murrami Public School site," a department spokesman said.
"(The department) is assessing the future use of this site.

"Once the future use of this site is determined, a decision regarding plans for retention or divestment of the site will be made.
"Any property disposal will be made in accordance with NSW Treasury Regulations."
The Department of Education was scheduled to inspect the site this week to advise if any clean up action was required.
Other demountable buildings that were located on site were removed some time ago.
