Dr Carr-Gregg is one of Australia's highest-profile psychologists, author of 14 books, broadcaster and a specialist in corporate mental health, families, parenting, children, adolescents and the use of technology for mental health.
Yanco Agricultural High School parent and Expect Me events facilitator Jacqui Herrmann attended on the day and said the knowledge passed on during the day was highly valuable for all involved.
On the day, Dr Carr-Gregg's sessions with students were split into two.
The first was titled "Surviving and thriving in school" aimed at those in years seven to nine, while the second focused on those in years 10 to 12 and dealt with getting the most out of students' brains in their final years of school.
"I have known Dr Michael since I was a teenager at CanTeen (Teenage Cancer Patients Society) in the 1980s, and although we didn't have the technology issues back then, mental health is an ongoing area of need," Ms Herrmann said.
"Dr Michael was a support for our family while my teenage brother was undergoing treatment, and ever since, his research findings on adolescent mental health have been influential in my life, especially as a mother of four teenage boys using smart phones and social media on a daily basis."
Dr Carr-Gregg spent several time speaking with students afterwards.
His visit included sessions throughout the region, including in Griffith and Wagga.
