The Leeton District Cricket Association (LDCA) held its annual general meeting on Monday night, which served to provide more questions than answers.
With a lack of player numbers taking their toll, just three teams have nominated in the A grade competition.
One club, the Leeton Soldiers Club Colts, remain unsure as to whether or not they will have the capacity to field any teams at all this season and may go into recess.
The shortage of those wanting to play cricket in the competition is the main reason behind why clubs are struggling.
Current LDCA board member Brian Rotherham said the organisation was due to meet again on Thursday night.

"It's very difficult at the moment trying to decide what direction we should be heading in," he said.
"If we can get that fourth team into A grade, that's really going to help.
In C grade, we're looking at seeing if St Francis College can enter a team so we're at least building those young players up and bringing them through."
There were also suggestions of the Leeton competition sending a team or two to be part of the Griffith fixture.
However, the LDCA said that would mean the town losing its own cricket identity.
"Once you let go of something, it's very hard to get it back," Rotherham said.
"We want to see cricket played in Leeton.
"There's a lot of decisions that still need to be made, including the format of the competitions."
It is believed the two-day competition in A grade won't go ahead in the 2019-20 season.
