Group Nine haven't been beaten since the concept was transformed into under 23s in 2017 and you have to go back to 2012 to find the last time their western rivals were able to take a win in the representative fixture.

Heading into the clash, coach Jody Rudd is expecting it to be another tough day out for the Group 20 side.

"We probably haven't had the best preparation that we could have," he said

"It's a bit of an awkward time to play because it is the end of the season and some of the players had already made other plans."

Despite the difficulties, Rudd is pleased with the squad they have been able to assemble.

"There is a good crop of under 22s players in Group 20 at the moment, and we had a squad of about 20-25 players to choose from," he said.

"It is a pretty young side, almost like an under 20s side. This has the potential to lay the foundation for a strong Group 20 side in the future."

Leeton dominates the side with eight of the 18 players named for the clash on Saturday coming from the Greens as a show the strength of the side that will continue to grow into the coming years.

Rudd felt that with a large percentage of the players coming from the same team it would help with the combination

"Having the spine (fullback, halfback, five-eighth and hooker) playing together will help that's for sure," he said.

"A couple of brothers in as well. It is just good to recognise the good season that these boys had."

Hay has three players in the side after finishing sixth in first grade last season while Yanco-Wamoon and West Wyalong have two each.

It will be an action-packed day in Temora as the women's tackle clash kick starts the day at noon before the under 18s clash at 1.20pm and the under 23s at 2.35pm.

All three are selection trials for Riverina's Country Championship campaign next year.
