Why not think a little differently this Christmas?
Here are some ways you can show you care, while keeping a lid on your spending:
- Agree on a spending limit with family to help keep the budget under control.
- Kids-only presents - This is what they say Christmas is all about.
- Do-It-Yourself vouchers - consider giving redeemable vouchers for tasks like babysitting, massages, picnics, homemade dinners or even housework.
- Sale items - Check out your local shops for sale items.
- Compare offers - Some stores match or beat competitors' deals. Don't be afraid to ask for a discount - you might just get a Christmas miracle!
- Secondhand bargains - Op shops, antique stores and secondhand bookshops can be a treasure trove for the thrifty Christmas shopper. If you're prepared to spend the time looking through their stock, you can often find good quality items at a fraction of the price.
Christmas is becoming so stressful and it does not need to be.
For me this year I will keep it simple and spend time with those few loved ones and naturally I'll be op shopping my presents.
What will your Christmas look like?
