Wamoon Public School students were recently visited by the team from World War I Living History to give them a glimpse into the harsh conditions diggers experienced in the frontline trenches of the Western Front.
The visit was part of an initiative to visit Small Schools in NSW. Whitton-Murrami Public School, Yanco Public School and Gralee School also attended to learn from the presentation.
Students were able to handle artefacts, including specially-designed periscopes and replica weapons.

They were also told stories from the frontline, including the reading of letters authored by soldiers to their loved ones back in Australia.
A large portion involved role play and question time.
"The students responses all indicated they got a lot out of the show and ensures the hardships faced by our diggers do not go unforgotten by future generations," Wamoon Public principal Matt Collins said.
