This year was the first time the social men's rugby league and women's league tag competition was held, with players from a variety of different codes all taking part.

Many used the competition as part of their pre-season training in the lead up to their respective codes kicking off.

Organiser Warren Weir this week confirmed the competition would again be going ahead next year.

"At this stage we're looking at starting in January at some stage, we're just trying to finalise a couple of things now in terms of ground availability and the (annual) top-dressing of No. 1 Oval," he said.

"We've already had a lot of interest already.

"The Tumut competition, which we based our model off, expanded this year, but we will have to cap ours."

That means there will again be six men's teams and six women's teams competing for the titles in 2020.

"We (the Leeton Greens) certainly used it as part of our pre-season training this year," Weir said.

"It definitely helped in terms of fitness and getting a bit of game time in.

"We were fit going into the season and we were able to maintain it, which was good."

Registrations will likely open in November.
