Both sides were defeated by Griffith on Friday night before each opening their accounts with victories over Narrandera the following afternoon.
This weekend they will take on West Wyalong at West Wyalong and, both Leeton's men's and women's coaches, are expecting a tough encounter.
Men's captain coach Ty Fletcher felt his team got their opening round matches away to a reasonable start.
In the loss to Griffith, the side let their opposition get the jump on them in the second quarter when Leeton weren't able to find the basket.

"They just caught us off guard in that second quarter," Fletcher said.
It was a tight match the following day against Narrandera for the men, with Leeton picking up the win by just two points.
Fletcher was unavailable for the match, but said all reports back from the team indicated an improved performance.
That is also what the side will require this weekend against West Wyalong.
"Them and Griffith are probably the two teams to beat this year," Fletcher said.
"I think as long as we can fix up some of the mistakes we made last weekend at training on Friday and we play team basketball we will be right."
The women's side will also be seeking their second victory against a West Wyalong outfit, which is again tipped to be one of the top teams this season.
Coach Josh Clyne said the team matched it with Griffith last weekend, apart from a slow start, which hurt at the final buzzer.
"They got the better of us in the first quarter, but to the girls credit they got back into it after that," he said.
"The girls are still adapting to playing with each other, but they are heading in right direction.
"It will be a tough one against West Wyalong this week.
"We are developing our style of play a bit more.
"We are playing more of a running game this year as we don't have a lot of height.
"Hopefully we can get the win."
