Despite the heat last week, 13 players rolled up for a game of bowls. The early start of 9.30am was helpful and will continue the rest of the year. Patti Wakeman, Joan Bourke and Dian Colyer were the drawn winners. There were no resting touchers; Jan Walker won the lucky draw. Elaine Sullivan won the tournament raffle.
A roster for the Thursday night ladies raffle has been placed on the noticeboard. Members should check for their name on the list.
LEETON SOLDIERS
Jeannie Plant, Jan and Laurel Cox travelled to Wagga Wagga last Thursday week to play in the Rules Tournament. They came away with a win and a loss against two Wagga teams.
The singles championship continued on the Wednesday, both games taking 28 ends to come up with a winner. Level after 13 ends, Lee Noble got her line and weight right and went on to defeat Betty Howard 25-18.
In the short match, Barbara Gulotta held a slight edge over Jean Plant until she dropped four short on the 25th end.
Despite Gulotta picking up three shots on the next end, Plant was able to close out the match 25-21.
