Leeton resident Fay Ryan held a sold out afternoon tea in aid of the Charlie Teo Foundation recently, raising $6000 in the process.
That money will now be forwarded to the foundation and Mrs Ryan hopes it will help with vital research.
Attended by many community members at the Leeton Visitor Information Centre, the idea was to raise as much money for the cause as possible.
"It was overwhelming to see all who attended our afternoon and also all who donated online," Mrs Ryan said.
"Everyone had a lovely afternoon chatting and listening to the wonderful voice of Leeton's own tenor John Martin.
