The L&D Cricket Club has jumped to the top of the A grade standings after taking a close win over Narrandera on Saturday afternoon.

After winning the toss and electing to bat the Carpheads were able to make a solid start with Rohan Rehwinkel and Haydn Emerson before Bryce Rogers struck to bring the opening stand to an end on 17.
Twelve runs later Rehwinkel (13), while after getting a start Tom Butterfield (12) was the next to depart when he was bowled by Blake McDonald (1/5), and Jack Williamson followed closely behind when he was caught and bowled by Adrian Axtil (1/17) and have the Carpheads sitting on 4/44.
Knowing they needed to start getting runs on the board Narrandera skipper Brent Lawrence and James Sullivan put their side back on track with a 41-run stand for the fifth-wicket before Rogers (2/13) picked up his second of the game when he found a way through the defence of Lawrence.
Sullivan (28) followed nine runs late when he was caught by Blake McDonald off the bowling of Rhys Wilesmith (1/20) leaving Cooper Irons (9*) and Connor Vearing (1*) to close out the innings as see the Narrandera side finish their 20 overs on 6/101.
The father-son combination of Mathew and Adrian Axtill got their side off to a strong start with an opening stand of 49 before Mat (19) was caught by Haydn Emerson off the bowling of Reece Keech.
Adrian Axtill continued to put runs on the board with the batsmen around him play supporting roles.
Harrison Steele (4) was the next to depart when he was caught by Lawrence off the bowling of Williamson before Brodie Perram (2/7) picked up Maclean Crompton (7) who was stumped by Sullivan while Cooper Irons took a catch of Perram's bowling to send Rogers packing.
The Carpheads were able to get the wicket they needed to stop the charge from the Ferrets as Adrian Axtill (50*) steered his side to a five-wicket victory with just two balls remaining to jump to the top of the A grade standings.
The Ferrets will be hoping the Carpheads will be able to do them a favour when they Yanco Cricket Club who are just one point behind the L&D side at Narrandera Park next weekend.
