The annual Leeton Community of Public Schools (LCOPs) chess championships were held recently at Leeton Public School and there were many brainy manoeuvers on show.
After some top displays of skill from the finest tactical minds, two Parkview Public School students contested the final.

Charlie Watson and Jaeden Roode went head-to-head in a gripping match.
In the end it was Jaeden who came out on top to be crowned the LCOPS chess champion for 2019.
For Charlie, it was the third consecutive year he has finished in the top three at the event.
