The club looks forward to when it is time to to play again and hope all bowlers will again be fit, well and able to join us on the green.

Winners on the day were Margaret O'Leary, Jan Munro and Kathy Marks. Runners-up were Jeannie Plant and Betty Howard.

The final monthly meeting for 2019 was held after bowls, at which we decided to return on February 5, with play to start at 9am. In the interim, members will meet at the club at 1.45pm for coffee from January 8.

This year's major winners were presented at a Christmas luncheon.

There was some great bowling last Thursday, resulting in five resting touchers. Jean Leighton, Patti Wakeman, Joan Bourke, all scored one and Lorraine Messner two. The drawn winners were Patti Wakeman and Joan Bourke. Helen Symes took home the lucky door, while visitor Reg Stanton won the tournament raffle.

Marika Pete handcrafted the Christmas centrepiece, which was raffled in support of Sunrice ambassador Tamara Bartrum. Joan Lloyd was the lucky winner. The final social bowls will be this Thursday, followed by Christmas lunch and presentations. Proceeds will go to Tamara and her charity, Can Assist. A street stall supporting Tamara is scheduled for Friday. Donations of cakes, biscuits, jams and produce will be accepted.

Social bowls opening day is set for January 16 at 9.30am. All new players are most welcome. A half-hour practice session will be introduced next year. This will be held before play on the first Thursday of the month, starting in February.
